The most important thing your child will learn to do this year is read! Reading is like playing a sport. If a person wants to be a good basketball player, he/she needs to practice, practice, practice. The same goes for good readers-you have to put in the extra time and effort if you want to be good at it! Reading needs to become a part of your child's daily routine. Your child's educational success depends upon the habits you start in early elementary school.
