Stratford School District participates in the Wisconsin Student Assessment System (WSAS). This is a comprehensive statewide program designed to provide information about what students know in core academic areas and whether they can apply what they know.
The School District of Stratford is also working to develop a Strategic Assessment System (SAS). DPI notes that such a system is able to "measure progress towards college and career readiness, including academic preparedness and social-emotional competence, across classrooms, schools, districts, and the state. When implemented strategically and systematically, assessment systems - including formative, interim, and summative measures - lead to improved student outcomes."
Formative, interim, and summative assessments help to drive the teaching and learning process toward improved student outcomes.
Thank you to the Department of Public Instruction (2019) for all of their up to date and thorough information on their assessment and accountability websites. Several examples, explanations, and images were taken from their pages in order to create these web pages and make them useful for the families in the Stratford School District.
